This page is dedicated to everything Lamar.

Lamar Oklahoma is a small community located in eastern Oklahoma, where my Mothers side of the family was raised. I have wonderful memories of Lamar as a child. My Grandma and Grandpa (Lester & Effie Carpenter) lived in the house on the corner where the road turns to the north, towards Dustin.

Last time I was down there, the house was converted into a hunting lodge.

The attached links are some old home movies that my Aunt Edith (pictured above) took with their 8mm film camera at the 1963 Lamar Homecoming. I was transfering these films over to DVD, and thought to myself, what a treasure these are. And how it's only right to share them with friends and relatives of the folks that are in the movies.

So, It's with great hopes that someone recognizes there Grandmother, or Great Grandfather, or even themselves in these films.

If you do, please let me know. sales@mckinnonvideo.com

Or if you have any Lamar related stories or pictures to share, please do so.

Thank to Jerry Summy ( horntown.com ) for linking our websites, and allowing me to share these wonderful old movies. Also thanks to Cliff Powell, for his 8mm footage of the old Lamar School.

Enjoy!
